Welcome

This is the homepage for Suture Lab, an independent research group affiliated with the STEM Research Academy at Brooklyn College that is aimed specifically at scientifically motivated high school and undergraduate students interested in research and hoping to receive science research mentorship. In addition to attending weekly seminars on paleontology (usually lasting no more than an hour), students are instructed in the measurement and collection of paleontological data, most frequently on ontogenetic development of ammonoid cephalopods (although we do have non-ammonoid projects!)

Most projects are completed by collecting original data, but may include content from the LLS Method or Ammodata, two open-source resources for paleontological researchers to conduct science with minimal access barriers.

Participation in the group is open to any students I've worked with via the College Now program, but I am working to expand this to include as many interested students as possible. As always, please email me (Kate) if you have any questions!
